This is a "Sham" sacrifice in that the piece given up is regained when White plays Qf3 attacking both Black's Knight and Bishop with the Bishop pinned by the Queen and the Pawn which is supposed to be protecting the Bishop is itself pinned by White's Bishop. This is an excellent example of "False Protection" due to a "Complex Pin." Black must give up one or the other or lose both since White is threatening to capture the Bishop with check and then the Knight. And so the sac is a nonsac or sham. It is "Positional" in that White's position improves as a result. This entire concept can be deemed "Thematic." The "Stem" moves given are the basis of this theme. Additional full game examples can be found here. More Nxf7 sacs can be found here.
